Jeffrey L. Wagoner is President of Wagoner Bankruptcy Group, P.C. dba WM Law. WM Law is the leading consumer bankruptcy firm in Kansas City and has filed over 13,000 consumer bankruptcy cases in the Bankruptcy Courts for the Western District of Missouri and the District of Kansas.
In 2015, the firm added an Estate Planning and Probate practice and Jeff is the lead attorney in that practice area. The Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association’s 1997 Young Lawyer of the Year recipient received his Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri-Kansas in 1995 where he was Technical Editor for the UMKC Law Review.
Jeff received his undergraduate degree with honors in 1986 from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He has been consistently recognized by multiple organizations as a top bankruptcy attorney dating back to his selection as Best of the Bar for bankruptcy attorneys by the Kansas City Business Journal in 2002.
Jeff is also a decorated veteran of the first Gulf War, serving on active duty in the U.S. Navy flying the S-3 Viking from the USS Nimitz. After 23 years of active and reserve Navy service, he retired in April 2009 at the rank of Captain. Jeff is an avid automobile enthusiast. In 2011, he founded the Kansas City Automotive Museum, a non-profit automotive history museum.
After 4 years as its President, Jeff now serves as a member of the Board of Directors. He is also passionate about and volunteers in Scouting and coaching youth sports. Jeff has authored numerous published articles on commercial law, business law and legal procedure. He is a sought-after and frequent speaker at continuing legal education seminars. Jeff and his wife, Pilar, have 3 children, Alex, Max and Sofia.
